Michael,

The ramifications of the Supreme Court buying the equal protection arguments against recounts are mind-boggling. I can't see how they haven't just declared the voting methods used in the most the country to be unconstitutional.

If county-by-county recount standards are a good reason not to do recounts, how can using modern voting equipment in the suburbs but 30 year old Votomatics in the cities be constitutional? How can that not violate equal protection?

The Congressional Black Caucus is already hitting the warpath on this issue.

Mike,

>>Somebody will eventually have to look at the programming of the voting machines that would not count votes unless chads were completely gone<<

I am curious about about whether there are different programming standards in different areas and who is actually responsible for it. You would think the locals would be responsible for that sort of thing. If so, then the dems screwed themselves. They certainly did by not cleaning them.

>>at the rash of traffic checks in African-American precincts<<

Is there any basis for that besides Jesse Jackson and his buddies looking to get on TV and starting trouble?

>>Republican faking of registration cards.<<

That's a new one. What happened?

Maybe the republicans found a few ways of offsetting the specific voter instructions given to the senile and the cigarette bribes given to the homeless. :-)
