Jozef, Re: Most of the buildings are "co-operatives" and to be able to buy an apartment and move in, you have to be approved by the boards of directors of the buildings, that have vast discretion.

It sounds like left over from the 19 century or what. Effectively, the board is running the apartment building as a small country, i.e. we have the discretion to allow or disallow someone to 'migrate' to our land. Will Hillary help to change it ?

Joe <In NYC, the white liberals came up with clever idea to segregate the "undesirables". Most of the buildings are "co-operatives" and to be able to buy an apartment and move in, you have to be approved by the boards of directors of the buildings, that have vast discretion.>

If you ever go to San Francisco - walk around the entire North end (the REAL city). The Marina, Cow Hollow, North Beach, Russian Hill, Pacific Heights, etc - and count African Americans. It'll take you a month before you get to ten.

When a good friend (black) came up to visit us from LA, he said, "Don't be surprised if I run up and hug the first black man I see." And his girlfriend is white - oh, the stares.

Being part Asian w/a Mexican wife, even we had a tough time getting an apartment in the Marina. Our landlord is cool. He told me there is definitely an unspoken rule. Very sad. I guess they let one in every now and again - just to keep the NAACP away.

Regards,

Dave

I'm sure you know what they do in FL. There is the condo/home owners association and approval. Then there is the gated community to keep the riff-raff out. Then they pass some community rules like no kids and you have to be over 55 to live here. Then they vote for civil rights and Al Gore all the while descriminating because of race, color, creed, age, kids, dogs cats and whatever else.
