Because appeasement has always proven to be a losing strategy.

If we let the republican party steal even a single election through artiface and chicanery, the day will come when we are no longer a democracy, and when many of our citizens who have struggled mightily to have the right to partake in the political process will find that that their hard-won rights have slipped through their fingers like grains of sand.

I would not advocate impeaching Bush and I in no way am a Gore supporter. But I do think it is ironic. The Republicans will reap what they have sewn during Clinton's term. Was it "for the good of the country" that we had to hear the details of his sex life? Was his impeachment "for the good of the country?" Or was it partisan politics?

I'll bet the Dems will be out for blood. Though I don't think they are quite as rabid as the far right was. Perhaps though, we'll see.

Both parties should be tossed into the heap as far as I am concerned. They are like little children trapped in a long car ride together in the back seat.
