SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 2000-- Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP - news), the leading provider of network-attached data access and content delivery solutions, has been selected by T-Mart, a Deutsche Telekom company, to power T-Mart's growing streaming media services. Just recently, Network Appliance(TM) NetCache(TM) solutions enabled T-Mart to stream some of Europe's most popular programs--VIVA, BigBrother 2, and CNN/NTV--over the Internet. T-Mart now uses NetCache systems distributed throughout Europe at the network edge and NetCache and filer appliances at the company's data center. T-Mart has been so pleased with the performance of Network Appliance that it will transfer its entire streaming business, including services offered to large clients Deutsche Welle and Kirch Gruppe, to Network Appliance systems.
For Network Appliance, this win at Deutsche Telekom demonstrates the company's ``end to end'' value proposition for moving and managing content from the data center to the network edge, validates the company's technology lead in content delivery solutions, and furthers Network Appliance's growing customer success with large global telecommunications leaders.
``We are expanding our audio/video services and Network Appliance content delivery solutions are a reliable investment for that expansion,'' said Uwe Schnepf, product manager at T-Mart. ``Their solutions are easy to integrate into the rest of our infrastructure, scale quickly, and enable us to offer a broad array of streaming and content delivery applications to our customers.''
``T-Mart is at the leading edge of next-generation Internet applications and we're delighted to be a strategic supplier and critical enabler of their success,'' said Amit Pandey, marketing director for the content delivery business unit at Network Appliance.
(ps- DS, let's face it: you're always cool!)
