I agree that Bush should pardon Clinton should the need arise. Clinton is probably going to be disbarred, anyway - it would be a black mark on the nation as a whole if he was convicted of a crime.

The fact that over 90% of blacks voted for Gore bothers me, too. One reason is the get-out-the-vote drive. I believe that many of the problems black people had voting in Florida can be traced to being first time voters. If they voted regularly, they would have ironed all the problems out.

But that's not the main reason. I think probably the main reason is that the Republicans oppose Affirmative Action. Don't think there is much we can do about that, I am very opposed to continuing Affirmative Action 48 years after Brown v. Board of Education.
