Iso, I never got a chance to congratulate you on your call to go mostly cash. Very perceptive, and I also liked your analogy of some posts ago about not giving your gains back to the market.

As you say, if you can hit the side of the barn, and avoid giving it back, you're doing great.

I personally bailed out of most OSX, and have recently bought back a few UNT, KEG, FLC, PDE, and TBDI.

I'm also trading XTO and MND pretty successfully. Looking to get out of all E&Ps and HGT & BPT into strength in the coming weeks. Haven't decided yet if I'll wait for the BPT January distribution which will be a nice chunk of change, or sell into the run up. HGT is going to see some great distributions in a few months, so I'll take a wait and see approach on it too.

I'm also into puts on BRCD and JPM & other financials.

I agree that the bear is alive & well, and that cash is the place to be, and I'll gamble with puts on things I think are due for a fall. I find it ironic that financials have been touted lately as benefitting from a "flight to safety". If any of the more dire predictions come true they won't prove to be very safe.
