It was never a witch hunt. There were serious allegations arising out of the Whitewater deal and raids on assets of Madison, and there were ongoing investigations which could involve the president. Thus, the Independent Counsel statute was invoked to pursue those issues, and such others as might be related. It was no more a witch hunt than the Watergate investigation.....

Say what you will, but he impugned the integrity of a truthful female American citizen, using the authority and trust of the Presidency. That would be Monica Lewinsky, Democrat. Of course, there is no real proof concerning about a dozen others he's discredited with his denials. Oh, I forgot Jennifer...that was proven too. He got away with that one, perhaps because he wasn't President when he lied about her. What a futz.
