Bosco, I have to admit that after last quarter's blowup by NT, I am less confident in the company and more like to react to rumor. I don't have much of a position but was thinking about getting back in.
NT has to make another statement on the quarter. A statement now will have more weight than earlier ones since it is so close to the end of the quarter.

I hope they actually reduce growth by 5% for next year..stock is already down and sets up for gains later. I don't think it will be hit on a lowering of full year guidance by a small amount.

NT has confirmed estimates 5Xs since 10/27

By my count NT has confirmed its 4Q guidance at least five times since October 27th.

8K -- 10/27
8K -- 11/1
UBS Warburg Conference -- 11/13
Investor's conference -- 11/20
CNBC -- I can't recall the date, but I think it was in December.

Investors need to decide for themselves who has more credibility, Carlucci and Roth of Nortel (and a host of other executives whose guidance Sagawa is at odds with) or Sagawa who on October 1, 2000 "downgraded Cisco and Nortel to 'market perform,' retained his 'outperform' rating on Lucent, citing the company's relatively cheap valuation and low expectations for the company." On October 2, 2000, LU closed at $31. (For other "on the money statements from Sagawa see Message 14468349 )
