jam, I have a total of 11 dbx files and they all were updated today and seem to be the mail folders. The dbx files are opened automatically by OE. Maybe yours are located in the wrong folder? Mine are in...
C:\windows\application data\identities\{long number}\microsoft\outlook express

Try moving your trouble dbx files into that folder.
[I have the latest OE]
