Watch C-Span now folks--AFL-CIO Election Rally against Bush's attempted theft of the presidency. You don't think things are gonna get intense? I guarantee you, if Bush goes in the way it seems he's going, things are gonna be extremely intense. There won't be any unity, no matter how many Republicans and Democrats gather to call for such.

"Modern History" is defined by historians to be the period since the end of the Middle Ages. That includes ALL of US history. Unlike European nations, we were not participants in ancient history or medieval history.

aftermath of a Civil War. However, given what
has happened, we could end up being at the beginning of one.

You're deluding yourself. Most of us just happy that this mess is finally ended. There ain't gonna be another civil war. Not over this. The people who voted for Gore may not be happy, but they're not THAT unhappy either. They will go along with it and wait for next time.
