I agree w/ you. I also think AG got more or less what he deserved. His team started out gaming the Florida Election Code by demanding manual counts in selected counties and opposing GWB's attempts to get relief at Federal level under EP arguments.

Boies' often claimed in response that GWB's lawyers could have sought similar manual counts in GOP districts...but as far as I can see only the "loser" can protest or contest elections under Florida law, and recounts requested in such actions can only be allowed if there's reasonable probability of changing the outcome of the election. GWB, as the winner, in fact, had no right to request recounts.

It's obvious, really, that the Florida code was not appropriate for a statewide election, and certainly not a Federal one.
