Risk a little.. Jeff that is just the point.. You risk a little holding a short play one extra day also. So why can't you risk on the short side but only on the long side? I am in my third put position in NTIQ and I risked when I shorted more yesterday near the highs of the day. I also risked when I held RIMM short even through some upside. I risked when I picked up AMCC this afternoon but I'm sorry if I won't risk the profit we got from the long side on AMCC just to break even at the end of the day after being up nicely. I just can't identify with that although you have probably more 'proponents' with your beliefs than I do with my theories.

Example lets say you picked off AMCC on a nice move above the 20 period ma at 66 and the stock goes to 72, now the market indicators are deteriorating. Can you in all reality not be tempted to take a profit rather than wait for the stock to drop back down to your entry level. And can you watch a stock move down in the 9:50 reversal period like AMCC did and not be tempted to short? That was about 8 points of profit on AMCC and it was not even a difficult trade.
