If D-Dubya-I flops, he'll still be the candidate. When's the last time that someone beat an incumbent president in a primary? Have to go back to the 19th century, I would think. Re: McCain: Repubs need to be careful of what they wish for. He has said he will tie up the Senate indefinitely until campaign-finance reform is enacted. I suspect that GWB has already agreed to a watered-down version of such (knowing probably that the Gang of Five on the USSC will strike it down as a violation of "free speech"), in exchange for McCain's support in the general election.
