They may have been counted as to their numbers, but the votes were never counted.

Boy o' Boy.. I guess it depends on what the definition of "count" is.. :0)

They were ran through the machines... ran through again... and in some places ran through a third time.

Given that voters were provided explicit instructions as to WHAT THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES WERE with regard to casting a legal vote, I think going to the special effort to ascertain, and in many cases "divine", what their "clear intent" was, is going the extra mile.

But again, the decision to permit manual recounts is the decision of the canvassing boards. Gore has the right to request a recount, but not the right to demand one. The canvassing boards could have denied him one at anytime by using their "discretion", as, in fact, Dade county eventually did.

They also are under legal obligations that, when they perform a manual recount, they must recount ALL THE BALLOTS, not just the under and overvotes.

The votes were counted Juli... Since there was no evidence of malfunction or manipulation, the only reason they were not added to the tally of all legal votes lies expressly with the voter.

Sounds like "tough love" but sometimes that is what is required to make people pay attention and not inconvenience other individuals....

Especially the 270 million other people in this nation who are waiting on Florida to tell us who the president is.

Regards,

Ron

Why you are not concerned with all the votes in the United states that machines didn't count? To only manually recount a few counties or a few states is not fair, to manually recount all the votes in this country is impossible, that's why there is a deadline. You need manual recount all or none in the country, without manual recount it may not be accurate but it's fair because all the errors will wash out and no vote is more accurate than others.
