Draw your own conclusions. I see a lot more toys in the "P4 prevails" list than the "Athlon prevails" list, but here's the conclusions from the article:

The P4 is not an Athlon killer. The Athlon is faster in many applications, far less expensive, and currently shipping in volume.

The P4 kicks ass in 3D games and next-gen "multimedia" applications that you may or may not have a need for.

The P4 sucks in tried-and-trued business applications -- but since these apps run fast enough anyway, you'll probably never even notice a slowdown in everyday use.

Given the current software landscape we can't enthusiastically recommend a P4 pruchase at the present time. But if the world of computing plays out as Intel anticipates, the P4 is your CPU of the future.

GROAN - yea, Inspire3D, Bryce, CorelDraw, Elastic Reality and Premiere are "fast enough."
