Japan is heading towards a recession, the european economy
is slowing. I guess there is not too many alternatives to
the dollar.

i don't think it had anything to do with Bush...it looks to me like the credit markets are beginning to discount a complete economic disaster...

the dollar looks cooked to me...check the DXY chart, that's a bear flag it has built after the initial break. that said, the rest of the world DOES suck. especially Asia...Europe is imo in somewhat better shape. in fact, once the paper pyramid burns, it will turn out that the relatively small size of the European version of the credit bubble will provide some shelter imo. Asia is drowning in bad debt however.
