Tom--I think he will offer a bipartisan cabinet.
I think it is going to be perceived by the Democrats as what it is: A bone tossed their way.
I think it inevitable that whoever lost in this situation was going to feel the other side stole the election. Certainly the Democrats do feel that way. I think the Democrats are going to be determined not to help Bush out in Congress.
I originally supported Gore, he lost that support from me for the power grabbing moves I saw him making. Bush was as bad, the moves he made at the end simply sickened me. I feel we have a president, Supreme Court, Florida Supreme Court, Florida Legislature, and a number of party members on both side who gutted their own credibility.
With a stalling economy, Russia and China uniting against us and the Middle East erupting more reliably than Old Faithful, we need very much a respected leader with skill, vision, integrity, and the backing of the nation. Looks like a clean miss.
