Ron,

Funny isn't it. Postmarks on a ship???? I retired 2 years ago as an E-9 after 21 years and would have just loved to see one of my guys come in and demand that his ballot get postmarked. Hell, we were usually just happy if we were able to get mail in and out. Good to hear from another squid. Regards.

it is SO EASY for some folks to falsely believe that military service is equal to some kind of civilian govt career.

It's also easy from some folks to serve a few years as a clerk in Southern California and think that their country owes them a living for their service.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful to the military. But I insist that anyone who thinks any citizen's vote is worth more than any other citizen's needs a remedial civics lesson.

If we want to honor our military, we should increase their pay and provide them full disclosure of the hazards they encounter, not put genuflect in front of them or treat them like hothouse roses.
