Louie Navallier on interest rates:

The market is now focusing on next Tuesday's Fed meeting. Greenspan has already indicated that he will be more accommodating. We know the Fed's current tightening bias will likely be reduced to a neutral bias. We also know long-term bond yields have plummeted. The Fed cannot fight market rates for too much longer. The big question is will the cut be next week or will it be in January? I'm betting that it will be next week. This is a controversial call by me, but I really think the Fed needs to get inline with market rates ASAP. Even if Greenspan doesn't cut rates next week, I still expect December to be a strong month for our growth portfolios.

fwiw, jim

Yea, Jim, I'm amazed too that these two guys performed as well as they did with memorized speeches. I believe Al Gore was probably reading off a teleprompter, but Bush looked like he had his memorized-neither one has probably had much sleep.
