The Truth About This One of the things that is particularly clear based on the recent Supreme Court decision is this: If the Al Gore team had proceeded with the recount effort in a fair and equitable manner rather than cherry-picking counties that unfairly tilted everything his way and pressuring for highly questionable standards for "divining" votes, we would already have had a full hand-recount of the whole state. It is clear that the Supreme Court would never have taken this case were the manual recounts being handled equitably. See the following post (and follow-up) for more information: Message 15015284 Note: if you haven't read the Supreme Courts decision, you should do so (especially the section that talks about the recount standards used). BTW, the decision that the vote-counting standards were unconstitutional was 7-2, not 5-4.
