Another stark reminder it is way past time for them to go: China Tested New ICBM While Hosting US General: Pentagon WASHINGTON, Dec 12 (AFP) - China tested a new mobile intercontinental ballistic missile last month while the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff was visiting the country, the Pentagon said Tuesday. Pentagon spokesman Kenneth Bacon said the test of the DF-31 missile was conducted over Chinese territory on November 4. It was the third flight test of the new missile, which the CIA believes incorporates US nuclear design information that was obtained through espionage. General Henry Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was visiting China at the time as part of an effort to improve military relations despite tensions over Taiwan and Chinese anger over the US bombing of its embassy in Belgrade last year.
