Putin may in fact be wordly wise about Pd, as it is a strategic metal stockpiled by all nuclear powers. Putin was of course an Andropov protege, and KGB trained.

It will be interesting to see how many other auto producers follow GM's lead, and whether or not the reduction in Pd use results in a pass through savings to consumers. I tend to think neither will be the case.

As a rare element with plentiful uses, there is little chance in the near term that we will see $500/oz. JMHO.

Pd has recovered nearly all of yesterday's losses on the spot market. This is very strong, and bodes well for PAL.
