Here is the release for the Omnia deal....looks like it was much less than that 1.5 billion...

jghutchinsom. Omnia was bought for 420 million when Ciena was at 28. Do the math. I am not mistaken about Omnia. They did not develop ASICs for that product and every single one of the engineers that was there in the original group is gone. All of the system software guys, hw guys, managers and marketing people...gone. Great deal for Ciena.
