So how many tasks did you perform for your husband I'm not sure what you're asking. The longest he was ever away was just over a year and a half, as I recall. For that one I went home and stayed with my parents to save money. We were able to talk on the phone once a month most months. I remember taking a class in auto mechanics while he was away and learned to tune our car--a Corvair with four carburators, a skill that is now useless. I also had to take care of our portfolio during that long absence, a skill that has served me well long term. For shorter absences, I just did his share and mine to maintain the household. Karen
