Scared but Hopeful

But I now hear that Jesse Jackson and even some republicans are saying that the poor precincts tend to get the cheaper machines. What is the truth here?

It only makes sense that they would have the cheaper machines. They have less money in the tax coffers. This issue may go to the core of the demo-repub core.

America is the land of opportunity where ANYONE can CHOOSE to be successful. Some must work harder then others. I like it that way as I believe it brings out the best in people.

Hi SbH - at the risk of offending a lot of people here, I actually prefer campy scfi to "cheesecakes" :)! But since I purposely avoid subscribing to cable, I watch whatever airwave sent me, but I know I ve lost it when I caught myself sat hypnotically in front of the teevee watching Ron Popell selling his amazing grill <VBG>!!!

The problem with listening to statisticans is that they always say something like "probably" <vbg>. I mean, I can watch the weather channel [oops, no cable!] if I want to learn statistics. Remember, the granddaddy of probability calculus, Pascal, has resorted to using probability in his theological argument [cf Pascal Wager]

I'm going to ignore it all

That's the spirit. Ignorance is bliss <VBG>!

best, Bosco
