Monday morning I shipped via UPS a box of gifts for my parents to their small town in south Texas. Yesterday they called and said the package had arrived. I asked if it had been delivered by a large brown truck, and they said, "No, it was a red pickup with a lot of boxes in the back." .... Life in a small town.

are you saying that your family is still drinking straight from the tap??

I started using a filter a couple years ago and the difference is definitely noticeable

started with the one that goes right on the faucet but now we have the Brita container filled and in the frig - cold clean water always available

now I just have to keep the boys from opening the fridge and drinking directly from the spiget as it is at just the right level for them

By Grapevine Mall do you mean Grapevine Mills, " the first super-regional, value-oriented megamall in Texas and the Southwest."?

A quote from
millscorp.com

Wow. Sounds exciting. It looks a couple of times the size of our entire downtown (which is three blocks long by two blocks wide and the biggest store in downtown is either Ace Hardware or the grocery store, NOT supermarket, can't be sure which -- each one actually has AISLES!!, about 10 of them in each store. Whoopee!!

And a 30 screen theater! We thought it was HUGE news when our movie theater, built in the 1930s as a stage theater, finally converted the backstage area into a small second theater, seats about 60 people, so we now actually have TWO screens for the whole island. I mean, talk about progress!

But just to go wander through something as wonderful as the Grapevine Mall -- why, I'd think I was in Kansas City!!

Got a note from CW adding to his list-
now he wants a Brita water filter.
??????

I have one of those. The tap water here is really hard, and tastes lousy. But I end up using the Brita water for my aquariums. What I'd really like is a 4 stage reverse osmosis setup. Reef aquariums aren't about fish, you know, they're about becoming an expert water chemist.
