I agree, up to a point. He's everything you say when making the rounds of the talking head circuit. And I, too, would take substance over style any day. But then, I'm not the typical American voter. Don't you think he lacks that "something" that you need on the campaign trail these days? I can't put my finger on it, but look at Reagan, Clinton, and to a lesser degree W, they've got "it", whatever that is. In contrast look at recent losers such as Walter Mondale (Walter Mundale), Michael Dukakis (Michael Pukakis), and Bob Dole (Bob Dull). Even, dare I say it, Al Gore (Al Bore)? There are exceptions, o' course. Bush senior didn't quite have it but was the closest thing to a third Reagan term (ditto Gore if he'd won this year, closest thing to a third Clinton term). Well, what do I know? JMO.
