I would agree that Bush is not articulate, but articulation is but one ability, and is certainly not the only ability needed as a President, in my estimation. Harry Truman was regarded by the literati as low; Eisenhower was considered by the intellectuals of his day as a utilitarian cypher, hardly statesmanlike. Lincoln was much ridiculed as a bumbling hilljack. His gangly stature and shrieking voice did not deter the press from finding him risible. Not appearing polished in the dominant medium of the day (in our case, television) apparently is, to some, a crime tantamount to treason. Well, I suppose that Bush hasn't shown his ability- it isn't like he has done anything really difficult, like swing-trade stocks or write a stock newsletter.

tradermike, I just meant that the recession was an unknown. I'm not disputing the fact that there is a genuine slowdown. All numbers point to that. As for being wrong on the Fed intervention.. I think we only need to look at the FED funds rate. They are currently being discounted with 2 fed cuts. I would much rather follow this indicator then any one person.. no matter how brilliant we may think they are.. regards. :)
