FORD MOTOR CO - Youth Can Get Ready to Drive on free2drive.com

Toronto, Ontario, Dec. 14, 2000 (Market News Publishing via COMTEX) --
Everything you need to know to get a driver's license and own a car, plus
driving games and road trip stories can now be found at free2drive.com, a
youth-oriented web site launched this day by YOUNG DRIVERS(R) of Canada.

"Many of our students at Young Drivers of Canada told us they'd like to have an
online source for driving information they could rely on, and at the same time,
have a fun place to go to talk about their driving experiences," said Rick
Rigby, chief executive officer, YOUNG DRIVERS(R) of Canada. "We're trying to
connect with these new drivers in more innovative ways and the Internet is where
they go for information, entertainment and interaction."

In addition to the web, free2drive.com is reaching out to youth at schools,
through television shows and magazines, even at the mall. For example, during
this holiday season more than 550,000 free2drive.com website 'decoders' will be
distributed in What magazine and Bootlegger stores across Canada as part of the
Mystery Drive Contest. After picking up decoders, people can log on to
free2drive.com and hold the decoder up to the computer screen to find out if
they've won a prize. Prizes include mini stereo systems, personal CD players,
free2drive backpacks, gel mouse pads, Bootlegger gift certificates and YOUNG
DRIVERS(R) programs. The grand prize is a Macintosh G4 Cube computer.

free2drive.com is packed with practical information about getting ready to
drive, including:

- Licensing - how to get a license (by province), information on

graduated licensing, and a sample beginner's test;
- Driver Training - what to look for in a driving school and "Ask
