The election contest was good for the country. We will have needed election reform. Without the contest, we would not have it. The conservative majority on the US Supreme Court showed how political they really are. Now, we know the truth. That is good for the country. The Republican Party and GWB have been forced to move to the center as evidenced by the call for a prescription drug benefit for ALL seniors. That is good for the country. No Republican leader is now discussion a partial birth abortion ban as a legislative priority. That issue has been put on hold until after 2002.
