<<I'd much rather pay for prescriptions for uninsured children>>

Don't let the Democrap rhetoric confuse you...there is no such thing as an uninsured child in America....it is called Medicaid.

I hope you're comfortable taking this country down the path of socialized medicine. I'm not so sure Tom DeLay agrees with you.

knc,

Be careful what you say about old coots, because I are one!! BUT, I must agree that the honest, and investigated, ability to pay should be a major consideration, and probably, the determining factor, as to whether government funds are used for any kind on "entitlement". After all, the funds used by the government are, in fact, made up of money belonging to the people of America. If one partakes from the public trough, when he has the ability to buy his own, he is, in a way, stealing from his fellow citizens.

I would like to say to some of the younger turks, however, that there are more poor, and needy, seniors than they seem to think. Only a small percentage of senior citizens are among the rich. Many are comfortable, and can contribute to their own sustenance, but few are really rich like the old tycoons of industry.
