<Yes, recession, like the Gore Bear Market, is the Clinton/Gore regime's parting gift to the nation.<

Nice try!! What we really have here is a crisis of confidence in "dubya". Look at the market's performance over the last 9 months. The only time it was up was in August and early Sept. when Gore started to have a lead against Bush in the polls. Once Bush looked like he was going to be Prez it started to tank again.

Now he's managed to squirm his way into the White House and the market is realizing that its in big trouble. Here's a guy who FAILED at everything he did until he was 41 years old and got his Dad's friends to help him get an interest in a baseball team, then grease palms of local politicos to get a publically financed stadium built so that the team would be worth more and he could sell.

As people on SI are saying all the time, the market is ANTICIPATORY about events. Obviously, what its been anticipating is having Bush for Prez and now its anticipating the same sort of bumbling, stumbling uncoordinated gov't policy that gave us our last recession.

Bush didn't want the votes counted in Florida, but, he can't stop the votes from being counted on Wall Street and the numbers aren't looking very good.
