Kenneth, Ciena's Multiwave Metro competes with metro SONET transmission and is doing quite well there. Ciena's CoreDirector CI is the switching device designed to serve the metro market, and it competes with SONET ADM switching devices and cross connects. The CoreDirector totally eliminates the need for the ADM's (Add/Drop Multiplexers), as that function is built into the CoreDirector right along with its primary function, that of lamba switching. No one else has this capability, as yet. Jack Hutchison
