I'm thinking that with the Nas and SOXX at 50% of their Y2000 highs, that the worst is over. Those stocks that haven't alredy corrected aren't likely to at this stage, imho...Technology remains a major component in the economic mix and as such will quite likely re-establish its leadership role once again in Y2001...and when/if tech does reassert itself as an economic leader, these subterranian levels of Nas below 3000 and SOXX below 700 could prove to be evanescent, maybe even in January...

RE:"There are a few left! People will want to be postponing taking gains until the new year, sort of a reverse January effect."

I know I still have a lot of stocks to sell before the end of the year for tax purposes. OTOH if people have so many losses they may well have to throw them into next year but this is not the norm. At this point it seems the markets are in limbo until at least the end of the year.
