We will keep our corporate income tax because a) Americans really don't want less govenment spending, they just want to pay less for it themselves, b) taxing corporations is easier than taxing people because corporations can pass it on to their customers, which means it's really a tax on the people anyhow but the people don't see it, so they don't mind.

Actually, we might wind up transferring the corporate income tax into a value added tax system. Even more invisible to the taxpayer, who continues not to realize he's become the fellow behind the tree.
