yep...when you see shareholder's equity decline on good 'earnings' something smells...i've observed this phenomenon at ORCL over several quarters in a row actually.

Good point, Jeff. The ORCL balance sheet is a master work of financial engineering. Bagholder's equity WAY down, debt unchanged, rapidly rising debt/equity ratio (as we enter the teeth of a recession, no less). Wonder if the so-called "analysts" bothered to raise any of these questions during the CC?
