Nice story, Jane.

Given the way you describe yourself ("my obsessive desire for order") you probably wouldn't be able to stand our house, in which entropy is a permanent resident. My seven year old went to look for a video in the appropriate cupboard last weekend, and instead turned around to ask, "Dad, would it be OK if I organized this?" I said be my guest.

Was I impressed! Videos for which there are more than one in a series (we just got "Land Before Time VII" <groan -- when will it end!>) were in one spot; others perfectly stacked by popularity, etc. A beautiful system all of her own doing, and neatly executed. All on her whim. Maybe, just maybe, there's hope!

Jane: I am not surprised. He obviously is so much like you! Yesterday, this area had a loss of electricity. My son said "I have no electricity, no computer and no television." I was in Best Buy with him last week, and he saw a display for the new Beatles CD that is a compilation of their #1 hits. He saw it too and he said, "oh look the Beatles, #1." He can't read yet, but he has gotten good at recognizing logos and words. As a child, I loved the Beatles and even named my goldfish after them, but it's not like I have played their songs and talked to him about them often. I doubt he has heard any of their music.

:)Thanks for sharing your story! Leigh
