Yes, Lane, but what is today's stock to buy and hold for a few years and get a 10,000% return.

Maybe one of the ---->fuelcell babys.

My favorite NASDAQ value stock is ELNT, but I am only making minor money on it (sometimes) by scalping in my cash account. In one of my IRA accounts, where I am holding a few hundred shares of ELNT for the longer term, I'm not having fun as my average price is 37 or so. It has fallen amazingly and now has a PE of just over 20 based on this year's earnings and 15-16 based on next year's. Even that doesn't seem to matter right now.

I am a little less high on EXDS than I was, but would love it at 23-25 again. I also think that many other stocks are worthwhile at the right price (i.e. GLW, EMC, SNDK, JDSU), and some stocks may already be priced so low they could be bought anytime (KEM, VSH with PE's of 5-7) especially for longer term accounts.

People say, steer clear of techs, but you need to play with stocks you know, either by going long on predicted bounces or by shorting, IMHO.

Besides, energy stocks, health, and biotech have run up already. Banks and financials have run up and are now looking dangerous as we approach earings (with the possible exception of stocks like FNM or SLM). Retail is in trouble, apparently except for Radio Shack and a few others. Not a lot of other sectors to switch too, either. Paper? McDonald's or Safeway?... please, say it ain't so! LOL!

I only own ELNT and a little SUNW in my IRA account otherwise I am still cash. Just no other smart alternative just yet.
