The general opinion was that Germany lost the war in Russia in winter 1941/42 when the German "summer" army was stopped in the suburbs of Moskow. But even if the German army had taken Moskow, what then? Napoleon took Moskow too, and he didn't win the war.
I think Mike B. is right,the war was lost before it began. The whole world was just a tad too big for Adolph. I'm pretty happy about this anyways, since I probably couldn't enjoy myself in CA, if history would have taken another direction <g>.

WSR, Of course, in those days, we needed a nearby place from which to fly in bombers, so had Russia and England fallen, our A-Bombs wouldn't have been much use for a long, long time. But England had won The Battle of Britain by the time of Stalingrad, so the odds were against any recovery by the Nazis.
