"Get over it ... you LOST."

Funny, but just a few moments ago I was remembering saying the same thing eight years ago today. I was on my way to dinner (what was the name of the trendy southwest/gourmet restaurant around 1992? Mesa? Great swordfish?) before the Inaugural Ball (worthless as they are) and I was thinking, why can't they just get over it? They lost!

Washington was filled with electricity back then. Everywhere you went you heard "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" until it made you want to puke. Still, people were hopeful. We had the first baby boomer President in history, the guy who made it okay to have smoked a little pot.

But, of course, the republicans devoted the next seven years to obstructing and slandering and hindering and just being a general pain in the *** towards our lawfully elected president, Bill Clinton. They took all means necessary to insure that, come hell or high water, nothing good would come from him. They never missed an opportunity to denigrate him.

Now the republicans say:

"But Clinton was not a legitimate President! George W. Bush, on the other hand, IS a legitimately elected President!"

To which I respond:

"Howl at the moon all you want, but Dubious George's presidency will be an exercise in futility. His presidency will be destroyed, and we will laugh as we destroy it."
