It usually works quite flawlessly with this group. We let them hang themselves. Exhibit A - Newt Gingrich - RESIGNED Exhibit B - Bob Livingston - RESIGNED Exhibit C - Henry Hyde - LAUGHINGSTOCK Exhibit D - Remainder of impeachment crowd - Mostly gone as public voted them out in disgust Exhibit E - Nixon - RESIGNED - but still waiting for his tapes to be released on CD Exhibit F - Reagan - Sets record for number of cabinet and executive branch appointees indicted. Finishes out second term before he can be forced to resign. Exhibit G - George Bush, Sr. - Utters the infamous challenge to 'read my lips' before millions. Takes early retirement. If you think about it, Mini-me has painted himself into a rather ugly little corner. You see, he promoted himself on the basis of honesty and 'I'm a uniter not a divider', a moderate coalition builder. These two things may prove rather difficult when mixed together. If he is honest, he will therefore have to pursue the middle ground that he promised us, acceding to many of the wishes of democrats. If he fails to do so, he will be seen as failing on both fronts - neither honest nor a uniter ---> loss of all credibility with the public. If, however, he does pursue this, he will infuriate little Tommy DeLay and the blowhards, who after all said that now that they own the government, they can do all the things they had been dreaming about, with impunity. Now you're into a situation where Bush wonders why the democrats treat him better than his own party does. Hammerhead Delay will of course remind him how they pulled back and shut up during the election, with the expectation that Bush would reward them. So Bush moves to the right again, causing outrage among the democrats and general public who expect him to be honest and keep his word. Public backlash then slams Delay and his crowd, who just can't help but ask for a little more rope as their pitch intensifies. Meanwhile, John McCain calls in his favors for campaign finance reform, and Bush balks, causing further dissention among the ranks, as the American people back McCain. Bush cracks, unable to handle the pressure. He wishes he had just stayed back in Texas with his baseball buddies. People begin to seriously wonder why they ever picked this guy..............
