first thing to try is close netscape, navigate to netscape user folder and delete netscape.hst (it will regenerate). while you're there, delete cookies file too (it'll also regenerate).

restart netscape and see what happens. if no change, let me know.

meanwhile, i'll be rtfm...

here's another angle, and it looks better....

"With Netscape not running, try this:

In your /Mail/ directory there is a file INBOX (no extension) which you can open in a plain text editor such as Notepad. If there are messages inside that you want to keep then rename the file to inbox.old. If not then delete the INBOX and INBOX.SNM, they will be rebuilt ... Restart Netscape."
