- play - you need to keep quiet & stop posting your ludicrous rantings about where yahoo will be 5 years out

- if you can't predict where yahoo w/be in 5 minutes; or at most 5 days from now; then be quiet

- seriously though - even today's shortfalls in Micorsft, Polaroid, Black & Deckert, etc... really don't shed light on any problmes at yahoo. For instance, Polrd & B&D carry huge debt loads; vs. Yahoo's debt free & wallowing in cash

- Also - YHOO continues to rack up sales; business is practically recession-proof; little overhead; & like MSFT - even in the worst of times - should still turn in pretty decent results

- Here's my basis for beleiving Yahoo w/ report decent earnings in 4Q00:

- 3Q00 results: revs of $296 mill; proforma net inc of $.13/sh

- 4Q99 results: revs of $201 mill; proforma net inc of $.19/sh

- 3Q99 results: revs of $155 mill; proforma net of $.14/sh

- 4Q98 results: revs of $76 mill; proforma net inc of $.21

- 3Q98: revs of $54 mill; net of $.15/sh

- My point is that yahoo always seems to rack up huge 4Q over 3Q results. I believe that most advertisers; merchandisers; & shoppers buy more & advertise more in the 4Q; hence the better results

- Givent that we're seeing more & more bus. deals; more advertising; dobuling of shopping on Black Friday; etcc.... then I argue that yahoo's 4Q00 this year will be another boost over 3Q00
