I would have to disagree... I'm only vaguely familar with the power generation industry and which one burns what, and where... And I can state that there are three main types of coal, Anthracite, Bituminous, and Lignite.. (and that's only because my earth science teacher was into teaching throug by vocal repetition).

But the snippet of information that you provided on multi-fuel power plants is very interesting...

I found a link where AES is paying a $17 million fine because they operated one of their GAS-FIRED power plants (2100 megawatts) outside of California emission standards.. Except that CA is permiting them to start it up whenever there was a Stage 1, 2, or 3 power condition. Go figure the logic in that...
