I remember a few days when total daily volume on the
NYSE was less than 20 million shares ..

Everybody was rolling 3 month CDs with rates in the
teens and playing silver and gold markets ..
stocks .. fu-get-about-it ..

That's when we walked around with the Jimmy Carter buttons that said WIN...Whip Inflation Now

This may date me, roger, but that was 1974-75, and the President was Gerald Ford, not Jimmy Carter.
