In all sincerity, I cannot comment on which judge should have recused himself/herself from the case for the simple reason that I don't know of the relations that exist between all concerned parties. And for that matter, I don't think anybody knows of all the possible connections which may lead to a potential conflict of interest.

In an ideal world, one would hope that judges are completely impartial. That they would have no direct or indirect ties with either party before them. Unfortunately, we are not in an ideal world. Judges have their opinions and biases. And for reasons which I mentioned previously, they live in a small community where direct connections are impossible to avoid. Undoubtedly you have read about the poor relation which exists between Judge Sanders Sauls and the seven judges of the Florida Supreme Court. Because of their personal dislike of Judge Sauls should all the Justices of the FSC have recused themselves in your opinion?
