Well there you are leaping to the conclusion that Jesus was actually the son of God.

You posted a lot of "maybe's" in your messege. You have
placed your bet for etenity and you are unsure. I don't
gamble with such importance. I haven't leaped to any
conclusion about Jesus. Take note of these two verses.

Ex 3:14 And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

John 8:56 "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad."
57 Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" 58 Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."

Do you understand the significance of those two verses?
The title "I AM" has lost a lot of meaning in the translation, but it is the title of God. In verse John 8:58
Jesus claims that before Abraham was born, Jesus was the
"I AM." John 8:58 is the most important verse in the NT.
