I have read nowhere, until just now, that Scalia's son was a partner. Even if he were, of course, this is the sort of lawsuit paid in billable hours, and it could be argued that the interest was in keeping the pot boiling, not settling the matter. The effect on the business of the firm is too speculative, in any case. Mr. Olsen could take his fame elsewhere, or start his own firm. It is not the same as a direct and substantial interest.
