Ap,

The 2 are intertwined like frick and frack. I can't downplay the psychological aspect of TA nor can I overstate the importance of numbers in scalping. Tape reading is "technical" as is pure TA. I could never do anything without being a decent tape reader. I don't think any type of short term trader can be successful without that skill.

My mind was blown being accused of some personal attack against scalping. That's nonsense. But I strongly believe that scalping is not "basic" trading, as someone stated. It is highly advanced trading. The washout rate for scalping is higher than any other form of trading or investment. Most successful scalpers spend years building their skills or started in a broader time frame and worked down to quick flips. It is a highly inappropriate trading style for most new traders. But I have no doubt that those with an innate ability for it, like Dustin, can do extremely well in a relatively short time.

I don't like what I hear at all about SuperMontage. But you're right that it won't effect (in its current form) longer strategies the same way.

<What the current market is begging of swing traders is proof that their successful methods of prediction are more due to brains than bull-market.>

Now what you're really talking about is momentum trading, not swing trading. Swing trading is built for sloppy markets.
