I hope we will see 20 or more today or Monday 2.5M traded on the bell. Isn't the bad new built into everyone's price yet! Time to start looking forward. Oracle earnings are up slightly. That should be good news for Compaq on the server end.
Oracle beats expectations - and trend - with 62% rise in quarterly profit

CPQ is now into the 17s;

It is obvious that the buy-back, given volume so far today, and cpq's lack of support, has not yet been implemented. I doubt it ever will. Remember, 90%+ of announced buy-backs are never implemented. It is merely a pr ploy designed to give hope. I checked the source and use of funds on the last 5 10Qs and guess what? Not a penny went to buy back stock for their prior buy-back program.

<One area Dell bests CPQ is return on equity. But that's typical when comparing relatively small companies to their monstrous brethren.> One option Compaq has to increase profits is to trim down staff and reduce stock bonuses.
